The 1689D Compact D is a small-batch trim update of the 1689 Compact platform. Same 20L bucket cavity, same heater, same certification stack. The matte-trim finish wears differently than the polished original (fingerprints don't show), and the dial profile was retooled to a softer detent. The model retailers add to the 1689 reorder when they want a second SKU on shelf without changing supplier.
